I’ve been in an extremely creative mood this week – from drawing to even a little music production. Computers are amazing creative machines and I’m glad we live in the age we do.
Here are a few creative things I enjoyed this week:
- I started using an iOS app called Paper to do basic drawing on my iPad. The best parts are the built-in tools that it makes it look like I have artistic ability! Really great stuff.
- With all the TikTok talk (sorry), Instagram released Reels. And Reels are not getting the attention that Insta would like them to have. TLDR: they miss the unique aspect of TikTok – videos that are easy to create and even easier to find.
- I’ve been working on a music side project, and found Spleeter useful to isolate vocals from an MP3.
- Related: A Night at the Hip-Hopera by The Kleptones is one of the best mashup albums ever created.
- Related-to-the-related: Feed the Animals by Girl Talk is actually the best mashup album ever created. Here’s a great writeup from 2018 about how Girl Talk may have been trying to be the Weird Al of mashups.
